    My 8 year old son and I will be traveling to WDW 9/7/14-9/13/14. We will be using Deluxe Dining Plan. My son doesn't eat most of what is served on the children's menu. Will he be allowed to order off the adult menu?

    Hello, Katherine!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

    The Disney Dining Plan does state that guests ages 3-9 must order off the children's menu where available. There are a few options that I would like to share with you.  Believe it or not, the children's menu at many of the Walt Disney World restaurants do offer a variety of choices for the little ones.  When my kids were younger, but ate like adults, I would often choose something from the adult menu that they wanted and they would choose something from the children's menu that I wanted.  When our meals came, we would just switch our plates and we were all happy.   Basically, I was still using a child credit and an adult credit.  Many of the restaurants also allowed a substitution of plates from the adult menu, but it came with a smaller portion of food.  It was still enough food to satisfy my growing boys, but we were still able to use a child's credit, too. Please keep in mind that this up to the discretion of the restaurant.  Personally, I have always found many of the children menu items to be quite filling.  Although I can no longer purchase a child's dining plan, I find myself ordering from the children's menu and paying out-of-pocket.  By doing this, I am saving on some adult dining credits and my three teenage boys are enjoying the benefits.
