Hi Jimmy,
My little guy’s first visit to Walt Disney World Resort was when he was 5 months old, so I’m sure you won’t be surprised when I say that a 1 year old is definitely NOT “too young” for Disney! We also visited when he was 13 months old (and, yes, several times since then) and every trip has been absolutely wonderful. I think that the Disney Parks are magical at any age, so I would definitely encourage you to take him if you really want to. Don’t forget - vacations are for parents to make memories too.
You’ll actually be surprised by how much there is for your little one to see and do during your visit. A quick glance through the
Planning for Pre-School Kids & Little Ones page will give you some great ideas about things that will delight her throughout your stay. Plus, if your little guy hasn’t had his first haircut yet, a visit to the
Harmony Barber Shop would also be a great way to celebrate that milestone. And, of course, there are so many places for your son to
meet Mickey and other Disney Characters, so he’s sure to have stars in his eyes the whole time.
My final tip: make sure to purchase a
Memory Maker package for your visit. I didn’t get one during my first visit with my son and I still regret it to this day. As I said before, vacations with our little ones are as much for us as they are for them, and Memory Maker is the best way to capture those memories forever.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
