My 8 Year old son has Neurofibromatosis as well as Ketotic Hypoglycemia. He occasionally has a need for IV fluids. I have not been able to find out what IV fluids are stocked on board each ship or if I should bring my own?

    Hi Shelley,

I'm the mother of two children, and I can only answer this question about the wellness and treatment of your most precious treasure with complete honesty.  I simply can't guarantee complete accuracy in my answer.  Please be aware that there is a physician and nurse on board available 24 hours a day throughout the sailing.  I'm relatively sure that they are equipped with some type of IV fluids should the need arise.  I just don't know the specific types of IV fluids they have on hand.   I must, however, advise you to call a Disney Cruise Line representative at 800-951-3532 to explain the situation and tell them what you and your child will need to make this trip a perfect one.  Make sure you ask them if you are allowed to bring your own IV fluids onboard.  Disney Cruise Line takes medical conditions very seriously and will do their best to accommodate you.

I can also tell you that there is a Special Services Information form available on line where you can list special needs.  To find it, you'll have to sign in to your reservation and go to "My Online Check In Overview".  You can fax, mail or email the form back to Disney Cruise Line.  I would also take a copy of it with you.  They may ask for it when you are checking in.

I hope this helps.  I'm wishing you an uneventful and MAGICAL sailing.  Bon voyage!
