My 16 year old son just earned his Eagle Scout Badge and we will be visiting Disneyworld this May. We want to make his day at the park really special . What do you recommend for a teenager?

    Hi Joni,

What an amazing accomplishment earning an Eagle Scout Badge is!  Please congratulate your son on behalf of the entire Disneyworld Moms Panel.

I have a really fun suggestion to celebrate your son's achievement.  Book him a Segway tour at either Epcot or Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.  I have done both of these tours and they are incredible experiences.  During the Around the World at Epcot tour, participants get to learn how to use the fascinating technological device (the Segway) and they use it to explore World Showcase before this region of the park is even open to other guests.  It is so cool to have access to part of Walt Disney World when it is closed to others.  This is an experience I guarantee he would never forget.

Similarly, the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure starts by teaching participants how to use the Segway.  The Segways in this program, however, have bigger tires and go off-road.  You can tackle curbs and uneven pathways on these Segways.  The group then rides them throughout Fort Wilderness and over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  I give this experience a big thumbs up!

You have to be sixteen to register for either of these programs so your son will feel like this is a premier activity only for adults and responsible young people like himself.  I work with teenagers every day as a high school teacher and I am convinced that this would be an amazing experience that all teenagers would enjoy!

Have fun planning your son's celebration!
