My 8 year old son broke his arm and is in a full arm cast. Are there any rides he can not go on?

    Welcome to planDisney, Ian!

Oh, bother! I am very sorry to hear that your son recently broke his arm. I hope that he is on the mend and still able to get excited as you countdown the final days until your arrival at The Most Magical Place on Earth. This is a really great question! When it comes to rides and injuries, my first recommendation is always to check with your family doctor to inquire about any restrictions that come with the current injury. While most attractions at Walt Disney World Resort can accommodate Guests with an arm cast, it is always important to get that green light from your physician. You can even check out the full list of attractions and what to expect from the experience on the Walt Disney World website. This is a great way to determine if a ride is a good fit based on your doctor's advice on what to avoid! Some rides offer drops and quick turns, which may not be ideal if you are trying to prevent bumping the arm. The attractions guide page will also show if an attraction may get riders wet, which may be something you are trying to avoid.

Outside of rides, there are so many fun things to do at Walt Disney World Resort during your stay. So even if your doctor recommends skipping some of the attractions, there is no shortage of Character Greeting opportunities, nighttime spectaculars, exciting shows, and so much more. One of my favorite things about a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just how much there is to do! You may be surprised at how quickly time flies by, even when you skip a ride or two! Shows like Festival of the Lion King and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular are sure to impress. Or you could head over to Rafiki's Planet Watch in Disney's Animal Kingdom. This location gives you the opportunity to get an in-depth look at animal habitats, pet some adorable animals at the Affection Section, learn to sketch a beloved Disney character, and even observe animals receiving veterinary care. The possibilities of ways to spend the day are truly endless!

I hope your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
    We'll see ya real soon!
