Jillian from NY Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My 4 year old son has Autism and will only eat purée food, and has a milk allergy. Is it permitted to bring food I prepared for him to restaurants? Are there any special arrangements for special needs guests (like preferred seating? fast passes?)

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jillian.

In efforts to accommodate and afford all Guests an inclusive and enjoyable experience, Disney’s Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities offers advice for touring such as the Disability Access Service (DAS) combined with the FastPass+ service.

Jillian, you are welcome to bring snack sized food portions with you if you find comfort in that, rest assured. My personal experience is that many Table-Service restaurants will strive to accommodate your son’s food preferences and allergies. You can let your server know once you are seated and the Chef will come out and speak with you to best accommodate your specific requests.

In consideration of your son’s specific preference for pureed food and allergy to dairy, please inform a Cast Member during your Advanced Dining Reservation telephone call at (407) 939-3463 who will note those preferences on your reservation. Please remember to remind your serving team upon your seating that you have specific food preparation requests and allergy alerts and I would also contact Special Dietary Requests at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com.

The best way to secure a dining venue is through Advanced Dining Reservations online, but I recommend you call them at (407) 939-3463 because of your important considerations, Jillian.
