Hi there, Francesca!
Some of my favorite visits to Walt Disney World are the ones when I’m one-on-one with my kiddos. I call them my Mommy-and-Me dates. Now that one of them is a bit older, he and I now utilize Single Rider lines to maximize our time at the theme parks. His first Single Rider experience was earlier this month: Expedition Everest at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! I thought that he’d be nervous, but he is as brave as can be.
With that being said, Guests in the Single Rider queues will be separated from their party—sometimes sitting in a completely different ride vehicle. Little ones can’t sit in their own row until they are at least 7 years old.
Also, Single Rider queues (and standard queues) can only be accessed by Guests who reach the minimum height requirement. Most attractions with Single Rider queues have height requirements that a 1-year-old probably wouldn’t meet. These rides include Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
AN EXTRA GEM: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at
EPCOT sometimes has a Single Rider line and it has no minimum height requirement. I highly recommend talking to a friendly Cast Member at the front of the attraction to see if you’re able to take your baby with you in the queue, especially if your little one will be lap sitting.
By the way, definitely check out the Baby Care Center video that I’ve included. It has tons of useful information about care options for you and your baby during your visit. I have a feeling that you and your little Mouseketeer will have a wonderful adventure, Francesca! If you have any other Disney vacation planning questions,
