If I take my 8 year old out of school for a cruise will there still be lots of other children for him to play with? Also, if I go after Thanksgiving will I only get a Christmas experience with the movies and plays? We are Jewish.

    Ahoy, Elissa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for sending in your question. Planning a Disney Cruise vacation is a year round affair for families around the world. It's great to hear that you are looking into taking a magical cruise with your family. I doubt that there will be any shortage of kids no matter what time of the year you are sailing. I know that my kids would welcome any opportunity of being taken out of school to go on a Disney Cruise - it's a wish they make every year.

If you plan on sailing after Thanksgiving, the ship will be fully decorated for the holiday season. It's a wonderful time of year, and you'll be amazed at how painstakingly detailed the decorations are all around the ship. It is beautiful and festive - and it has an overwhelming sense of inclusion for every single person on board... no matter where guests are from, families and friends are brought together.

I hope that you check more into it and eventually push through with your plans. Your family will surely have a great time! If you have any additional questions that we can try and answer, please do write back. We are always happy to help!

    Happy planning!
