My 7 year old and I want to run the 5K on Castaway Cay but my 6 year doesn't. Is there something else for my younger son to do while we run the race?

    Ahoy, April!
Thanks for stopping by with your question about the Castaway Cay 5K. This free, untimed, unofficial runDisney event has become a highlight of many a visit to Disney's private island.

I'm happy to hear your 7-year-old is eager to lace up his running shoes and tackle a 5K - that's awesome! Unfortunately, the age limit for this race is ages 10 and up. Though he's not quite old enough to participate in the 5K, there's an Island Power Walk offered for all ages during your visit to Castaway Cay. Participants in the Power Walk meet at the Castaway Cay Post Office and depart for a brisk walk around the island with the Cruise Staff. This is an all-ages activity, so both of your boys could participate!

If your little one wants to opt out, you can always check him in at Scuttle's Cove, the "hub" for youth activities on the island. Disney Cruise Line Youth Counselors will be on hand for games and fun activities throughout the day!

Hope this information is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions as you plan your magical cruise with Captain Mickey! - Diane W.
