I have a 10 and 11 year old that prefer to order off the kids menu. Will this be allowed considering it states that the kids menu is for 9 years and younger?

Hello, Audry and welcome to planDisney where we love dining around the Walt Disney World Resort even more than Chef Remy loves to cook!

Now, Audry, as a fellow Mom from Pennsylvania who has an 11-year-old Mouseketeer who would also rather eat off the kids' menu, I'm thrilled to chat with you today!

On our last vacation, my "tween" wanted to pick and choose which menu he selected from based on the choices (and his mood that day). Some days he decided something on the regular menu sounded best, other days, all he wanted was chicken fingers and french fries from the kids' menu. Luckily, most of the time, we didn't have any problems! So, let me share some specifics that might help.

First, for any quick-service meal, such as Satu'li Canteen or Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café, your kids are welcome to order anything they'd like from any menu.

planDisney tip: If you're trying to save some time in your day and plan in advance, check out Mobile Ordering. I love to take a mid-morning or mid-day break and have my family choose lunch or dinner from the restaurant menu, and then place a Mobile Order for pick up a few later.

Second, if you are dining at a standard table service (sit-down meal) that is not a pre-fixe or buffet, such as Le Cellier Steakhouse or Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, just let the server know that you'd like two kids' menus. My family has had great luck with these types of restaurants lately because my 11-year-old can choose from any menu including ordering two appetizers instead of an entree!

Finally, Audry, it is important to note, however, that for meals priced per person, buffets such as The Crystal Palace, and family-style meals like you'll find at The Garden Grill Restaurant, you will be charged the adult price. Make sure to chat with your servers and feel free to ask for more of whatever dishes your kids are enjoying. I have had great experiences with Cast Members helping us to satisfy those tween-tummies!

Audry, I hope this helps as you're thinking ahead to your Magical vacation. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney. We love to see returning guests and are happy to help make your vacation a fairy tale!
