Heigh-ho Christina, it's off to
Disneyland Resort you go!
You must be so excited that it's almost time to make your return to a land of magic. As you prepare for your visit, it's a great idea to get your little Mouseketeer ready for the
new health and safety protocols she'll encounter in the theme parks. Face coverings are an essential accessory to every Guest's theme park outfit, and I'm happy to share some tips for wearing them at the Happiest Place on Earth.
Since your little princess is 2 years old,
she'll need to keep her face covering on at all times unless actively eating or drinking in a stationary, physically distant location. Since you have some time before your visit, I recommend practicing at home as often as possible, offering her lots of praise when she's wearing her face mask correctly. Try taking her on some short, masked outings to the park or grocery store. I have two little ones who wear masks in daycare and school all day long, and they adjusted quickly to having them on. I also recommend trying several styles of masks to see what works for her. My kiddos like the fit and feel of the face coverings sold at
shopDisney. Your daughter might love wearing a face mask featuring her favorite Disney pals!
My planDisney friends shared some great advice in this Disney Parks Blog article that you might find helpful as well.
I was nervous about how my children would handle wearing face coverings all day in the Florida heat when my family and I made our first trip to the
Walt Disney World theme parks last summer. I found that they were so excited just being there again and so immersed in the environment, they hardly noticed they were wearing face masks. I even had to remind my little ones to remove their face coverings once we returned to our resort room!
I know every child is different, Christina, and if even after weeks of practice your daughter struggles to wear a face mask, you might need to consider postponing your visit until they are no longer required in the Disneyland Resort. Cast Members will be stationed throughout the theme parks to assure compliance, as Disney is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all. I hope everything goes well for you, and your family enjoys a joyful return to the Happiest Place on Earth. Thanks for stopping by planDisney, and hopefully we'll see ya real soon!
