    Can my 10 year old order off the children's menu even though we need to pay for the adult meal plan? We are nervous he may not like any of the food offerings at some of the restaurants we are choosing.

    Hi there Amy!

    I'm glad that you decided to visit the Moms Panel with your question.
    I've been in your exact position in the past - with a 10 year old boy whose tastes aren't quite sophisticated enough for the adult menu offerings but for whom we've paid the 'adult price' on the Disney Dining Plan!

    I'm happy to tell you that at most Disney Dining locations, you'll find that your server and the kitchen will work together to make sure that even the pickiest of eaters are well-fed! Often, if you see an adult item that your child will 'almost' like ... you can make a few changes to the entree to get the perfect kid-friendly, adult entree. For example - switching out the risotto side dish for fries or omitting a sauce.

    If there aren't any adult offerings that come close to suiting your child's taste, another option most locations are happy to accommodate is to provide an adult-size portion of a kid's meal. This is often the perfect solution to keep the picky palates well fed and it keeps the parents happy too!

    Having "been there" with both of my kids in the past, I can tell you with confidence that your 10 year old will not go hungry during your Walt Disney World vacation! Just ask your server what accommodations can be made once you've had a chance to look over both the adult and children's offerings.
