I have a 8 year old who would like some older-oriented Dining Experiences. Could you recommend something he would like?

    Hi James,

Disney is a great place to introduce children to fine dining.  There are some amazing restaurants that are sophisticated enough to please adult "foodies" yet they still welcome children.  Jiko is my favorite restaurant in all of Walt Disney World.  The food is heavenly, and the atmosphere is great.  After dinner, take a walk around the resort.  You can even go outside to view the animals on the savanna.

Another fun, yet sophisticated, dining experience is California Grill.  You can't beat delicious dining, an open-air kitchen and a view of Cinderella Castle.  They even dim the lights, pipe in music and stop serving during Wishes so guests can enjoy the breathtaking fireworks from their table or from the balcony.

If those restaurants are filled and you can't get a reservation, consider Brown Derby, Tutto Italia in Epcot, Flying Fish Cafe or even Citricos.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
