My 7 year old has a nut allergy. Will we be able to find him substitutes for the treats that he cannot have or should I bring some things from home? I know he cannot have the mickey bar but I have told him there will be something just as cool. Am I wrong?

    Hello, Kim,

Walt Disney World works very hard to have dietary options for guests who have special dietary requests, including nut allergies. In fact, they have begun to offer allergy-friendly menus at many table-service and quick-service restaurants. In addition to the restaurants, there are some nut free snack options for your son.  You may find it easiest to visit a few helpful websites to read longer articles where other guests have shared their experiences with this subject:  www.allergyfreemouse.com, nut-freemom.blogspot.com, kids.baristanet.com, disneyfoodblog.com, and allergyeats.com; just search for nut-free snacks and/or dining at Walt Disney World.

Just as a precaution, however, I would still have a back-up supply of snacks for him just in case you end up in a pinch. Also, I'd still make sure and let the cast member know that you need a nut-free snack/food, and you are welcome to ask to see the ingredients of any of the snacks.

Wishing you a great trip!  If you have any more questions, please let us know.  -Kara
