Does my 3 year old need a ticket or does he get in free?

Hi there, Jodie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!

All Guests age 3 and older require a theme park ticket to enjoy the wonder and magic at the Walt Disney World Resort. There is a slightly reduced price for theme park tickets for those ages 3 through 9, however. Your son will also receive his very own MagicBand if you are planning on staying on-site. My daughter really enjoyed picking out the color of her MagicBand so I suggest you get your son involved in that step of the planning, if applicable.

When my daughter was 3 years old, she was tall enough to ride her first roller coaster. So, before you head to the parks, I suggest measuring your son, with his shoes on, to see which attractions are available to him. If you think he might be a bit of a thrill-seeker, you can introduce him to thrill attractions by taking a ride on The Barnstormer if he is at least 35" tall. This attraction is the perfect way to test the waters because it is somewhat fast, has a few dips and turns, but is still short and tame enough for smaller riders.

Finally, if this will be your son's first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to pick up a complimentary 1st Visit button at Guest Relations to commemorate the trip.

I hope your visit is full of magic and memories!
