My 80 year old mother and I will be visiting WDW the first week of May 2009. Would the Hoopty Do Review be a good option for the first night of our arrival....what does it consist of....is it entertaining for older people as well as kids?

    Judy:

    A fellow Mississippian!

Our family loved our time at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue--and we had family from age 3 to 63!  The old Western setting reminds you of a vaudeville show, and with that in mind, I think would be a fun first night for your mother.  The on-stage singing, dancing and mayhem had the whole audience laughing!  With the fun, a homestyle dinner of ribs and fried chicken is served up family-style.

It's location is a bit out-of-the-way at Fort Wilderness, but well-worth the effort.  Just give yourself a good hour to get there if you're not planning on arriving by boat from the Magic Kingdom or other Seven Seas Lagoon resort.  If you arrive by car or bus, you'll have to transfer to one of the internal Fort buses at the Outpost bus stop to take you to the Settlement and show.

Keep in mind that the Hoop Dee Doo Revue is very popular, and you'll need your credit card when you make your reservations--even if you are use dining plan credits.  Just call 407-939-3463.

Wishing you and your mom a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
