My 68 year old mother will be coming with us to WDW for her first time. The trip coincides with the one year anniversary of the death of her husband of 50 years. What can we do at WDW that day to remember, reflect, and honor my dad?

Hello Cassandra and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel where it's our pleasure to assist with your families upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort.
Please let me express my heartfelt condolences to your dear mother on the passing of her beloved husband and you on the loss of your dear dad.  I can only too well imagine your combined grief and it warms me to know that your mother is sheltered in the embrace of your love at what I'm sure has been a difficult time for your whole family.
Every 1st visit to Walt Disney World Resort is always special and this trip could perhaps begin to aid the grieving process for your family by taking some time in new surroundings to remember, reflect and honour your dad's life. My family likes to join together over food and I wonder if perhaps you may wish  to consider taking Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room within the elegant surroundings of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This sedate affair takes place daily from noon until 4pm and Guests who arrive from 3pm can be serenaded in the lobby by either the delightful playing of Grand Floridan Lobby Pianist or the tuneful sounds of the Grand Floridan Society Orchestra; both of which may help evoke some happy memories of times past for your dear mother.
As an alternative there's also the Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Tea Experience at Epcot.  This Twinnings Tea hosted event helps Guests explore both the history & taste of this highly regarded English tea brand and also includes tea tasting, sandwiches and scones.
I just know that whatever is finally decided upon you will already be honouring your dad's memory by simply being together as a family enjoying the magic of Walt Disney World Resort.
