Greetings, Elizabeth, and welcome to planDisney! I love that you'll be spending quality time with your family at the Disneyland Resort. Let's make sure you're all set to have a fantastic trip!
You'll be happy to know that there are helpful services and options available at the Disneyland Resort for Guests using mobility devices. Most attractions have an area where mobility devices, including walkers, can be stored for the duration of the ride – it's typically near where Guests enter and exit the vehicles. As you approach an attraction, please ask a Cast Member for assistance with what to do or where to go.
Elizabeth, depending on how much walking your mother feels comfortable with over the course of a busy day in the park, she may prefer to use a wheelchair or an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). These can be
rented for the day just outside the Disneyland entrance.
There are some great resources you might want to look through before your trip, including the
Accessibility Planning Guide and a detailed page about
accessing attraction queues. There, you will find details about
Location Return Times, which may be issued at select Disneyland attractions. It's meant to accommodate Guests with mobility devices who may be unable to navigate some of the older queues.
Another tip is to make sure you have the
Disneyland mobile app downloaded on your phone prior to your visit. You can use the app to filter attractions by accessibility features, such as whether a Guest may remain in a wheelchair or ECV, or whether a transfer device is available. One of my favorite features on the app is
mobile ordering. You'll be able to build a food and drink order for one of many participating locations, select a pickup time, and pay right there in the app. Instead of waiting in line, you'd go straight to the pickup window when it's time to eat.
Elizabeth, if you have any other questions as you plan your visit, please let us know. We're here for you!
Wishing you magic,
Kriss
