Hi! I have a 4 year old little boy and a 2 year old little girl. We are planning our very first Disney trip in September. I'm wanting to say at the Wildnerness Lodge but I've heard that getting to the shuttles is difficult?

Hi Ashley!  I have stayed at the great Wilderness Lodge several times and I don't feel the bus location is any more difficult then any other resort.  It is located between the resort hotel and the Vacation Club Villas and directly off from the main resort lobby.  As with any resort the time it takes to reach the bus location will depend on the location of your room within the resort.

Some guests enjoy being on the monorail system and the Wilderness Lodge is not although it is in the same area.  I enjoy taking the boat to the Magic Kingdom and find it not only relaxing but also a bit less hectic.  You can also take a boat to the Contemporary Resort where you can hop on a monorail or a boat to Fort Wilderness which is a hidden playground of fun things to explore!

The resort has a fabulous lobby area and you will truly feel like you are in the midst of the great western lodges of our National Parks.  Look for the hidden Mickey on the stones of the fireplace.  The resort has all the amenities of a deluxe resort including boat rentals, a fun pool with slide, dining restaurants, store, and other fun such as the great Old Faithful geyser that erupts like clockwork!  I find this resort a bit more relaxing and laid back then some of the other ones on property and the guests who frequent it are often repeaters who have fallen in love with the Wilderness Lodge!
