Hi Chris!
Greetings and welcome to planDisney! Like you,
Port Adventures are one of the things I look forward to the most before sailing with Captain Mickey. Sometimes they are perfectly geared to having the whole family participate. Other times, you might prefer an adults-only excursion. The good news is that BOTH are viable options with Disney Cruise Line.
But what to do with your kiddo? Well, good news! You are totally able to leave children ages 3-12 in
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Disney's Oceaneer Lab if you decide to go ashore for the day on a Port Adventure. In fact, there have been times my two kids told me to leave and come back much later because they were having so much fun in these Youth Clubs! Now, wouldn’t that inspire a great deal of comfort to hear that from your child?
While Youth Club hours vary each day, these kid-centric areas will be open to check in your kiddos before your scheduled excursion meet-up time. I recommend letting the Youth Counselors and your child know your plans and your anticipated return time. Even if you will be ashore during lunchtime, the
Youth Clubs have it all covered as kids will be fed lunch.
So now that you know that your 7-year-old will be all taken care of, you’re all set to make those Port Adventure plans as soon as your
Advance Booking Window opens and your cruise has been paid in full.
Cruise back to planDisney if you have any additional questions before you set sail. Chris, please tell Captain Mickey I said hi!
Bon Voyage!
Sherry
