Happy New Year, April! Thanks for visiting planDisney! Some of my fondest memories in high school were visiting the Disneyland Resort with my friends. So it's fantastic that your 16-year-olds want to experience Disney magic at the parks.
April, per the
Disneyland Resort Rules, "Guests under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 years of age or older to enter Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park." This means that, currently, 16-year-olds are allowed to go to the theme parks without an adult. The most recent policy (subject to change) for the
SoCal Resident Ticket is that Guests 18 years of age and older need to show a government-issued photo ID, so your kids should be good to go. Please make sure they have a valid theme park admission ticket and park reservation before their visit!
I want to mention that minors (under the age of 18) need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
after 10:00 PM in the Downtown Disney District. Disneyland Park closes at midnight and California Adventure Park closes at 10:00 PM, so please keep this in mind if your kids are staying until the park closes.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to visit again. You can also reach out to a Cast Member at the
Guest Information phone line. I hope this information helps, April!
Magically yours,
Melissa
