Hello again Epfinio!
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for honoring me again with your questions! I love talking about Walt Disney World and especially love sharing tips about enjoying it with little ones.
I have strong opinions about strollers and I am glad you came to me with your question. I hear you and your desire to not bring the double stroller from California to Florida but I strongly think you should reconsider it or find something equivalent. Why? Walt Disney World with little ones is a magical experience but huge and tiring. Your stroller becomes your kid's safe space to rest, relax, and eat snacks. You said you had a 3-year-old and an infant. That means you have a precocious toddler and a squishy baby with a potentially wobbly neck. I agree that the
stroller rentals in the Parks may not be the best solution for very little ones like your youngest. They are made of molded plastic and have a lap belt. They also cannot be removed from the Park so you will have to carry or figure out a way to transport your kids from the Park exit area to your preferred means of transportation back to your Resort. Listen, I have used these strollers on my last three trips to the Parks for my kids but they are older and this works great for us. However, when your little ones are as little as yours I suggest a nicer stroller with features that allow kids to recline, enjoy a nice tray space for themselves, and hold your drinks up top.
If you don't want to bring your stroller there are quite a few local places where you can rent a stroller and have it delivered to you or pick it up. Disney's Featured Provider,
ScooterBug is a company that serves Guests by providing scooters and strollers to rent for their trip. The brands and styles may be pretty similar to what you are used to back home and since they are a Featured Provider, they are allowed to drop off the stroller at your
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and leave it there at Bell Services till you arrive and pick it up. When you are done using them for your trip you can also leave the stroller with Bell Services for them to pick it up. It's a pretty convenient program. Another option is to find a local vendor like Orlando Stroller Rental, Magic Strollers, or Kingdom Strollers but you will have to coordinate your pick-up and drop-off times with them. Some of them can bring it directly to your Resort but you would have to be there to receive it. Some allow you to pick it up and drop it off at the airport.
Umbrella Strollers are available as well to purchase right in the Parks at the Stroller Rental locations. They had a cute one for sale on my last trip that was a "Disney Baby" brand and had a Mickey Mouse color scheme. It was at the time priced at $39.99 and is subject to change. As with any umbrella stroller, these do not recline and do not have a snack tray for the kids. I would only choose this for your older child as there is only a lap belt and an infant should get a better harness when they inevitably get sleepy.
I promise that when your little ones are as little as they are now, investing in a good stroller will make a difference in the success of your trip. My son absolutely needed his stroller for a long time as he would pull down the cover when he got overstimulated and detach for a bit during his trip till he felt better. He knew his stroller and took comfort from it when in a new and loud location and I was glad to provide that for him. My daughter loved having the option to fully recline as she is a "nap princess." It made our trip much more peaceful.
I hope this was helpful and you find the best solution for your family! Happy Planning!
