My DH, 1 year old and I are heading on DCL starting in Barcelona next week and I am wondering if you have suggestions for the ports of call. We are wondering where we should book excursions ahead, or where we should just wander around on our own, thoughts?

    Hi, Hussein!

Congratulations on your upcoming European cruise aboard the Disney Magic next week! This is a dream cruise of mine, and I'll have to live vicariously through you for now. I definitely think you should book shore excursions or Port Adventures in order to get the most out of your time in ports of call. Plus, the excursion hosts time their tours with the ship's schedule, and if for some reason the tour runs late, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) will adjust the ship's schedule or arrange for you to meet at the next port of call with no cost to you.

There are several Port Adventures recommended for families (even with very young children) for each of the cities you'll visit. I suggest giving each at least a cursory glance and booking a few either online before you leave home or once you're on board. I hope that helps you plan.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
