I have 3 year old that has a very grown up palette. She likes peanut sauce on her pork chops and pesto on her pasta. I am worried about the description of the kids meals Are most really just a plain chicken breast and steamed broccoli ?

    Hi Pamela,

I have 3 children with daring palates and 1 child who needs enticement to venture out of the "beige food" zone.  Since even children from the same family can vary quite a lot with their tastes, children's meals at Walt Disney World are designed to be both nutritious as well as appeal to the majority of children.

I have found that my more daring children can easily have their entrées dressed up by requesting a side of sauce from the adult menu.  My advice for you is to peruse the adult menu before helping your child order their meal.  If you notice a garnish, side, or sauce on the adult menu that you feel would accompany your child's meal you should ask your server for some.  Additionally, I have found that if I inform my server of my children's tastes they often can make suggestions.  In some instances the restaurant might even allow a child sized portion of an item from the adult menu.  Substitution isn't guaranteed and is up to the individual restaurant, however I have never been declined for ordering some extra sauce with my meal to give to my child.

One solution my family has found is selecting some buffet service meals.  The buffets at Walt Disney World are wonderfully varied and children may choose food from the main buffet as well as the smaller "kid's buffet".  I have been known to visit the kid's buffet from time to time myself I must admit.  I just can't resist Pooh's Puffed French Toast at the Crystal Palace!

I hope this helps you with your vacation planning Pamela.  If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to submit another question.  We love to help!
