My 15 year old grandson will be at Disney and has made a reservation to make a lightsaber at Savi's workshop. Will he be allowed to have a friend come in with him? He will be there with bands attending during Thanksgiving holiday week.

    Hi Kelly! Welcome to planDisney!

How exciting! I'm sure your grandson is over the moon about his upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Let's dive into your question and help him get set for a magical stay!

At Savi's Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Guests can hand-build their own custom lightsabers. It's an incredibly unique experience and one that even the casual Star Wars fan will have a great time doing. Each Guest is allowed to have an additional Guest accompany them for the experience, although they will not be able to build their own lightsaber. At least one Guest in the party must be at least 14 years of age. With your grandson being 15, he should have no problem having his friend join him for the experience.

In addition to building his own lightsaber, he can also stop by Droid Depot to assemble his own droid. Like Savi's Workshop, this location allows a Guest to join the builder for the experience. With a large selection to choose from, every droid that makes its way out of Droid Depot is unique to the Guests who are customizing them. Reservations are highly encouraged for both of these experiences.

Kelly, I hope this information helps your grandson plan for his stay! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!
