Hello, Danialle,
Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. One of the many reasons I love Walt Disney World is because how there is something for everyone of all ages. We have loved watching our children grow up through Walt Disney World from getting their first haircuts at the
Harmony Barber Shop to going on their first real thrill ride (
Space Mountain!) to taking their own Walt Disney World vacations with their spouses.
As they move through those milestones, there comes that moment when they head off on their own to the theme parks. Walt Disney World has
Park Rules that state "Guests under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter a theme park or water park," so your 16 and 12 year old may go the theme parks together without an adult.
If they like thrill rides, they'll want to add
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to their list of must-do attractions. It is hard to describe in words how incredible this ride is, but it is unlike anything else I've ever experienced. It does have a
Virtual Queue, which is done through the
My Disney Experience app. It is available at 7:00 AM (a
theme park reservation to EPCOT is required) or at 1:00 PM after entering EPCOT. They can go quickly, so you want to be ready to go at the designated times.
Wishing you a magical trip! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
