Hi, my 18 year old would like to go to Disney. She doesn't have a credit card in her name but has a Debit/Visa Card. Is this ok? If not, are we able to book the room in her name with my credit card? she would take my credit card with her to Florida.

Hello Wendy, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I am so happy to hear that you are helping your padawan plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. You are definitely teaching your child the ways of Disney vacation planning.

I am happy to tell you that your princess can book a trip using her debit card. For security purposes, she would not be able to use your credit card without you being present. You may want to check with her financial institution to see how any pre-authorization charges or holds will be handled. Also, something else to note is that your princess can use Disney Gift Cards to pay for food and merchandise during her stay. I have used my debit card many times without any issues to pay for a number of my resort stays.

If she is planning to take advantage of a vacation package, it must be paid in full at least 45 days prior to her arrival. You could pay for her entire package with your credit card, but she will still need to present a debit or credit card upon check-in. I hope that answers your question. If you have any more questions or need more help planning your daughter’s trip, please come back and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
