Sarah, I love your question because it tells me you know what I do:
Disney Cruise Line is not just fun for families with young children. I have been on two cruises without my kids. They may still be a bit salty, but the cruises are magical with just adults in your traveling party. It's a different kind of cruise, but Disney has crafted its ships to entertain kids of all ages.
According to the
overview of the cruise contract, "Minors under the age of 18 not traveling with a parent or legal guardian must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older in the same stateroom." As people who are 18 and 19 years old are not minors, they would not require a person over the age of 21 to accompany them. You just could not bring a minor with you without a person who is 21 years old or older sharing the same stateroom.
While some experiences like adult-exclusive bars and clubs serving alcohol may be off limits until you turn 21, other adult-focused areas are now open to you, like the
Quiet Cove Pools; dining in
Palo,
Remy and
Enchante; and the adult-exclusive area
Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay.
There is also a group dedicated to cruisers your age: the 1820 Society. You can find where this society is meeting and the planned activities on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Just look for the Onboard Fun on the app once you have boarded the ship and get to change your selection from "At Home" to "At the Port" on that initial page on the app. Two of my favorite moments on the app are seeing the countdown literally count down to zero and hitting the button to connect to DCL Wi-Fi and seeing the onboard version of the app come to life.
Thanks for visiting

Cheers,
Jana
