My 2 year old is in a full leg cast. Will she be able to go on rides? Will she be accommodated similarly to someone in a wheelchair?

    Welcome to planDisney, Sarah!

Oh, bother! I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's leg. Thankfully, there are many attractions that will be safe for your daughter to enjoy. Rides that immediately come to mind are "it's a small world," Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Storybook Land Canal Boats, and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. However, I think you'd be even more helped by speaking directly with a Cast Member who specializes in helping Guests with disabilities.

In fact, I would encourage you to apply for the Disability Access Service (DAS), Sarah.

Guests registered with DAS can make attraction return time selections using the Disneyland Mobile App. If you tap on the three horizontal lines at the bottom right of the app, the DAS feature will be displayed once your registration is complete. This feature will show a list of available attractions. If you tap on an attraction, you'll discover relevant information about that attraction, plus the next available DAS return time. If you tap that time, you'll then confirm the members of your party that will be joining your daughter for the attraction. Just note that you may only book one attraction at a time. It's a really fantastic service, Sarah! And here's the best news: It's free!

You can pre-register for DAS between two and 30 days before you arrive at The Happiest Place on Earth. Simply visit the Planning with Disability Access Service (DAS) page of the Disneyland Resort website. If you log in to your Disneyland account and click on the "Request Live Chat" button, you can initiate the DAS Advance process. The live chat feature is available between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM (PT).

You'll want to have your 2-year-old present with you for the live chat. You'll also want your device to have a video camera. Depending on call volumes, you may enter a waiting room. So be prepared for that! You'll be able to speak to a Cast Member and explain your situation and they'll decide if your daughter qualifies for DAS.

If you don't get a chance to go through this process before you arrive, Hakuna Matata! You can even register for DAS when you arrive at the Disneyland Resort. Simply visit Guest Relations at any theme park and mention that you'd like to apply for DAS.

Here's what happens during the process, whether online or in person: a Cast Member chats with you and your daughter. They'll have a few questions to try and figure out if you qualify for DAS. If not, they'll suggest other ways you can maximize your time at Disneyland Resort. You can also ask the Cast Member which rides would be appropriate for your little Mousekteer to ride.

I hope that's helpful, Sarah. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. Have a magical trip.
