i have a 8 year old and a 11 y/o. Since i just found out the DD will not be free, I am rethinking getting it. I don't want to pay the adult price for my 11y/o who wants to order off the kid menu only. Is it worth it to get the dining plan or just pay?

    Hi Joyce,

Honestly, if your 11 year old does not have a grown up appetite and won't eat over $40+ a day in meals, I would opt to pay out of pocket. I face the same dilemma when I travel with my tweens and lately I've been choosing to forego the Disney Dining Plan. When the kids only eat a few chicken fingers and fries and you have to pay the full adult price, it makes it tough to justify purchasing the Plan.

With the money you save on dining, you can treat them to some extra Mickey Ice-Cream bars!

    Wishing you a wonderful vacation,
