Hi. My 9 year old is experienced with riding horses but I am not. I have never ridden. Will I be able to do the trail ride with her? Will it be too advanced for me?

    Hi Jamie,

Welcome back to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us another great question!

Last year, one of my friends asked me whether I’d like to go Horseback Riding at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort during our upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. I’ll be blunt, I was TERRIFIED! It had been several decades since I had touched a horse, let alone climbed on top of a saddled one and then decided to go for a ride.

I wound up saying yes and am I ever glad I did! It truly was a fun and unique way to see both The Cabins and Campsites of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and the horse I was riding couldn’t have been sweeter. The guides were great and really helped ensure that riders of all skill levels had a great time. I am confident that the trail ride won’t be too advanced for you and would really encourage you to sign up if you’d like to join your daughter on the ride. It will definitely be a great mother-daughter experience, and a pretty unique one at Walt Disney World Resort, to boot!

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any questions. We’re always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
