We are going with a 1, 4, 5 & 7 year old during Christmas. Is that age doable? Are there lits of rides for them? Is thr genie and lightening pass worth it? If so, how does it work? I heard you have to pay extra for certain rides on top of genie pass?

    Hello there, Melissa!

Welcome back to planDisney! I'm thrilled you're here with another question about your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! I know your hands are full to the brim with things to pack, plan, and prepare, but I’m here to lighten your load a bit.

Christmas is the busiest season, but it's totally worth it with all the holiday overlays, yummy treats, and chilly weather. It’s actually my favorite holiday season at the resort! Even with the crowds, Disneyland is totally doable with little ones. My 1-year-old loved the winter-themed "it's a small world", and the holiday nighttime shows are a must-see for everyone! Check out this list of rides with no height requirement here that the whole family can enjoy together.

Now Melissa, it sounds like you may be ready to experience the phenomenal cosmic power of the Disney Genie+ Service! This magical tool is a lifesaver during the holidays when the lines can get crazy.  Even if you spend most of your time in Fantasyland with your little princes and princesses, you'll have unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads during your stay, so you can capture all those priceless memories without worrying about taking the perfect shot yourself!

If you haven't already, download the Disneyland Mobile App and rub the lamp to summon the Genie. Okay, just kidding about the lamp, but it's just as easy! If you already have tickets, you can add Disney Genie+ once you arrive at the park. Just keep in mind that availability and pricing can vary, so be sure to act fast! I recommend arriving once the park opens to make the most of your day, and here's a list of rides that are included with Disney Genie+, as well as the ones that require an extra Individual Lightning Lane.

I hope these tips provide you with the "bare necessities" so that you, Mama Bear, can rest at ease. If you have any more questions, follow up directly with me for a quicker response if you have any more questions now that you’ve got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon,
    Danielle
