Daniel from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have a 20 year old disabled son who is in a custom-fit tilt-in-space wheelchair that is larger than a standard wheelchair. Are there rides at Disneyland or CA that can accommodate him without getting out of his chair? Or must he transfer? Thanks!

    Welcome to planDisney, Daniel!

The Disneyland Resort really goes above and beyond to ensure that all guests can experience the magic and wonder that the parks provide! There are several attractions at both parks that can accommodate wheelchairs and Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) without having to transfer. There should be ample room on most of those attractions to accommodate your son's wheelchair, but I would give Disability Services a call at (407) 560-2547 to discuss specifics. There are also many attractions that will require a transfer from the wheelchair to a special ride vehicle.

I recommend taking a look at the Guides for Guests with Disabilities for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park before your trip so you are aware of what services are available to make your visit as smooth as possible. You should also download and familiarize yourself with the Disneyland app so you can easily locate companion restrooms and guest services locations on the map for extra support.

I hope this information is helpful and that you and your son have a wonderful time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
