Hiya Bridget! Welcome to planDisney! Only a few more sleeps until you arrive at the Most Magical Place on Earth! I'm sure your girls are so excited to finally be on-site to meet Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of their favorite characters.
Being a girl dad to two princesses of my own, I'm pretty well-versed on some top must-dos during your visit to each of these parks. Let's dive into each of these parks and how to make the most out of your days.
Disney's Hollywood Studios has a little bit of something for everyone! If your daughters are big fans of the Toy Story franchise, then a trip to Andy's backyard should definitely be on the itinerary. All three attractions in this land are favorites of my kids and each offers a different level of thrill. Make a snack stop at Woody's Lunchbox for a homemade pop tart before heading out. You will thank me later! (Pro Tip: Use the Mobile Order feature on your
My Disney Experience App to place the order ahead of time. so you don't need to wait in line.)
Hollywood Studios has a variety of shows that are offered around the parks, but put the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at the top of your list! This show has the perfect blend of comedy and singing and is entertaining for both children and adults. There is even a magical surprise just at the end that puts it over the top! After heading out of the show, make a stop on Hollywood Boulevard to try and catch a cavalcade with some of your favorite Disney and Pixar characters!
Whether your family is big Star Wars fans or not, a trip to a faraway galaxy is in store during your visit! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is located in Hollywood Studios and is completely immersive from the second you enter. My girls loved getting a chance to see some of the classic Star Wars characters and they really enjoyed piloting the Millenium Falcon on Smuggler's Run! Before heading out, make sure to stop by the Milk Stand for your pick between Blue or Green Milk!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a family favorite of ours. While there may not be as many classic attractions at this park, it makes up for it with the countless experiences to enjoy. There are many opportunities to view and get up close to a variety of different animals, including a ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris. When you get to the savanna, you may even get lucky with a giraffe crossing the path right in front of you. Before heading out of Africa, take a walk on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. You'll get an amazing view of the gorillas in their habitat.
When heading over to Asia, Maharajah Jungle Trek is another walking trail that is not only fascinating but educational for your daughters as well. My girls had the best time talking with Cast Members along this trail and learning a lot about different species of animals. If you are planning on eating a sit-down meal at Animal Kingdom, try to snag a reservation for Yak and Yeti. This dining location is decorated so well and the food is absolutely delicious.
No trip to Animal Kingdom Theme Park is complete without a visit to Pandora - The World of Avatar. The sights and sounds alone are worth the walkthrough, but I have a feeling the entire family is going to want to hop on
Avatar Flight of Passage on this day. I suggest purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane for this one to avoid waiting in long lines.
Bridget, I hope these highlights help you plan for your upcoming stay! Have a magical week!
See ya real soon!
