Hi Keya!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for bringing me this question. Walt Disney World Resort is just the perfect place for celebrations at any age. I'm excited to share my top tips and some of my family's birthday traditions to help make your daughter's birthday as magical as possible when you visit in just a few short weeks.
Since you are already within the 60-day mark of your visit, I'm hoping you already secured an advance dining reservation for a special birthday meal. If not, no worries, you still have time! When my husband and I visited Magic Kingdom Park during my own birthday trip last month, I made a lunch reservation at
Tony's Town Square Restaurant so we could watch the first performance of
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade while we dined. If your daughter is a fan of mountains of spaghetti (or macaroni & cheese like my own daughter) this would be a great spot to enjoy the parade and rest those tired legs away from crowds. I always request outdoor patio seating but the Atrium also offers great viewing if the patio is full.
I took a look at the
entertainment schedule and see that the parade is currently scheduled for 3 p.m. during your visit if you're hoping to follow my plan. You might also consider adding an adorable
Mickey Celebration Cake when booking your dining reservation. These come in a few flavor options and feed 4-6 guests.
Now, if dining and parades aren't on your daughter's birthday wish list you can also make her day special by picking up a
complimentary Happy Birthday button from City Hall or any Guest Relations location when you arrive. Have her wear it proudly as she poses for a Disney PhotoPass picture on Main Street, U.S.A. with Cinderella Castle as the backdrop. She'll also want to wear it if she plans to meet any characters. My favorite interactions are always with
Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theatre at the front of the park, and the princesses at
Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. Purchasing
Disney Genie+ Service will allow you to schedule a Lightning Lane return time and help reduce your standby wait at both of these character locations, which I'm sure your toddler will also appreciate. If you'll be spending time with the princess friends be sure to stop in for a bit of complimentary pixie dust at
Sir Mickey's so your daughter can show off her sparkling hair when she arrives. I always make a point to stop in for some too, because you can really never have too much pixie dust!
Mickey balloons are another great way to add a little extra sparkle to your day and are so helpful when trying to locate your stroller in the parking areas. I love seeing which colors and themes are available when I visit. You can find these available for purchase on Main Street, U.S.A. just a little way down from Main Street Confectionery, which by the way is a treasure trove of celebratory sweets if you decide not to order an entire cake.
I hope this helps Keya. If I can answer any other questions please come back and let me know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
