My 8 year old daughter only wants to be made up if she can be Moana. Is there anywhere that does a Moana makeover?

Hello, Dawn, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Princess and character makeover are huge in the parks, even for boys! If you’re looking for a specific makeover look, I’m sorry to disappoint you, as there are only a few set looks available, but you might find a way to customize something for your daughter.

At the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you can choose from Elegant Princess, Color Star or Disney Diva, but none of these resemble Moana. I’ve given advice to Elena lovers that they may bring a false Elena-style ponytail with them for their Fairy-Godmother-in-Training to include, but Moana’s hair is so wavy and simple that a boutique visit may not be the right answer. If you visit DisneyStore.com, the Shop Disney Parks app or the World of Disney, you may find a complete Moana costume and accessories. Purchasing this ahead of time guarantees that the ensemble won’t be sold out! You can then wash your daughter’s hair and add some sea-salt spray from home, which will bring in those beachy waves. To top off her authentic look, visit Castle Couture for some complimentary pixie dust (ask a Cast Member for this magic!) and then maybe visit Disney’s Polynesian Hotel for photos and a frozen Dole Whip treat even HeiHei would gobble up. No rocks included!

Hopefully, we’ll see the return of Moana before your vacation so we can glean some wayfinding tips for our next voyages. In the meantime, hope to TeFiti for her return. Have a magical trip! ~ Lindsey P.
