I am going with my 6 year old daughter - do you think she is too old to enjoy a character breakfast/meeting?

    Hi Jen,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

I have an 8-year-old daughter who still loves meeting and dining with characters at Walt Disney World.  I think that your 6-year-old daughter probably will as well.  When you are at Walt Disney World, the magic is everywhere, and I think that everyone is willing to become a child again - and I even think that children let the magic take over and will surprise you with what they enjoy.  As our daughter has gotten a little older, we have found that she really enjoys having an autograph book when she meets characters.  When she was extremely young, it was enough to reach out and touch Mickey Mouse's nose.  Now, she enjoys collecting the character's autographs and seeing whose autograph she still needs to get.  She also likes to choose which characters to meet - she will pass by some characters now in favor of others.  It is also really cute, now that she is a little older, to hear her talk to the characters, especially the characters such as the princesses and fairies, who can have a conversation.

That said, every 6-year-old is different, so you need to consider your daughter's unique personality.  If you think that she is a child who will not enjoy character interactions that much, I suggest that you start by choosing just one.  Choose her favorite character and meet that character.  If she does not seem to like the experience, then forgo the rest of the meet and greets and character dining.  There is plenty else to do at Walt Disney World, including riding amazing attractions and seeing wonderful shows!

I hope that this is helpful for you, Jen.  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
