My 12 year old daughter has recently started running. Does Disney offer a "Fun Run" for beginners like her?

Hi Tracy!  That's awesome that your daughter is running at such an early age.  I think it's a great activity for kids that promotes healthy living.  It's also cheap and easy to do anywhere!  Disney offers a variety of races for kids during every race weekend.  There are "kids races" that start with a diaper dash all the way up to a 1-miler, called the Mickey Mile.  For your daughter's age, she would be in the 1 mile division as long as she is under 13.  My favorite events are the Family 5K's.  These are great!  A 5K is 3.1 miles, but she certainly does not have to run the entire distance.  There are walkers and runners that participate and all ages are represented.  I am doing the Never Land Family Fun Run 5K at Disneyland this weekend with my husband and two sons, ages 8 and 11.  It's a really fun event and a great entrance into Disney races. Both of my sons have also done the kid's races and they loved those as well.  If you know what race weekend you are planning for, you can just go to that page on the runDisney website for all the details and to register.  Let me know if I can help you and your daughter plan for your first runDisney event!
