Bright suns, Kristen!
Thank you for sending us this magical question, and welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! Can you believe that your magical vacation is coming so soon? I know it seems far away now, but I promise you the last month before a Disney vacation always goes by quickly. Plus, there is no better way to spend that last month than reading up on all the magic you're about to experience!
I am sorry to hear about your daughter's injury, and I hope this can bring her some magic and relief. One of my favourite things about the Disney parks is that there truly are accommodations that allow everyone to have a magical vacation. To answer your question, I am happy to confirm that you should still be able to go on most of the rides you plan to visit. Indeed, I'm happy to report that
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance allows for wheelchair and ECV transfers, which means your daughter will be able to use her scooter while in line. Furthermore, the ride vehicle is above the ground, so it should not be too difficult for your daughter to get into it, especially if she can bend her knee. Other attractions that allow transfers include the brand new
Guardians of the Galaxy - Cosmic Rewind opening on May 27th, 2022, Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run and even Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. You can find the complete list of accessible rides and their categories
online.
Now, Kristen, I thought I would share some additional experiences that you and your daughter can enjoy without waiting in line and transferring into a ride vehicle! You will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during one of my favourite times of the year: the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. I don't know about you and your daughter, but my mom and I absolutely love food and trying new things. Something we loved doing together on our last visit was going from booth to booth to
try different food and drink options. If you have not tried it yet, the Violet Lemonade is an absolute must-try for those with a sweet tooth, and it is the perfect refreshment on a hot Florida day! Another of my mom and I's favourites from the festival was the Corn on the Cob from Flavor Full Kitchen. As big garlic lovers, it is one of our favourite food options, and we must get it every year. You can find the seasonal menus online and pick which options you would like to try together!
I hope this was helpful, Kristen, and that you and your daughter will have the best day ever on your upcoming Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your trip, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are always happy to help fellow Resistance members!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
