Hi Erin!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited to hEAR you are heading out on a Disney Cruise Line to start out the New Year! I always say you cannot go wrong with a Disney Cruise Line vacation since so much is already included with your reservation – entertainment, activities, lots and lots of food and SO MUCH MORE!
Since you will be sailing in and out of Port Canaveral, if your daughter does not have a valid U.S. Passport, she can travel with a valid government-issued identification along with an original or copy of her state-issued birth certificate. While the passport is not necessary for this particular voyage, it is
recommended that Guests travel with a valid U.S. Passport if at all possible.
I know you will have just the BEST time when you visit
Castaway Cay, which happens to be one of my favorite stops whenever we sail with Captain Mickey! Crystal-clear waters, soft, sandy beaches make for a perfect day on the beach! And you can’t forget about the yummy barbecue lunch from Cookie’s BBQ right there ON the island! My favorite thing there is to grab two of the ginormous chocolate chip cookies and sandwich them around soft serve ice cream for a yummy afternoon treat! And if you are runners (or walkers), you should register for the Castaway Cay 5K! Registration is done once onboard at Guest Services and is a great way to start out your morning and get a great tour of the island! And all participants get a finishers medal when they pass the finish line!
Wishing you and your daughter the most magical of adventures at sea with Captain Mickey! Have an extra ice cream sandwich for me while at Castaway Cay!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
