Can my 13 year old daughter use customs in the parks? I know my 10 and 5 year old boys can, but can she? For instance dress up like a princess?

    Hi Vanessa,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Wearing specially themed clothes and accessories to Walt Disney World resort adds extra magic to your vacation, and I love planning outfits that are special for each day and theme park.

According to the Walt Disney World Park Rules, guests under age 14 are welcome to wear costumes in the theme parks as long as they don't drag on the ground. One warning: wearing a princess dress for the whole day can be hot or uncomfortable. My daughter prefers to wear fun t-shirts with  Disney sayings or pictures of her favorite characters, and she will pair these with a cute skirt for a little princess flair. You can find Disney merchandise online at shopDisney or at many of your local stores (we find lots of cute and affordable items at Target). Be sure all your kids have comfortable shoes for long days walking in the theme parks; we always bring two pairs each so we have another option if shoes get wet or feet are sore.

We also love dressing our outfits up with sparkly Minnie Mouse ears, jewelry, and accessories. You can find Minnie ears, scarves, jewelry, and purses once you arrive at Walt Disney World in many of the resort and theme park gift shops as well as in Disney Springs.

Vanessa, make sure you and your dressed-up children stop for lots of pictures during your visit. It’s especially fun to visit the characters your children are dressed as. On a recent trip, my daughter wore her Rapunzel dress and we wove flowers into her braid, and Rapunzel was so excited to pose with her twin! I cherish my picture of those two princesses together.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
