Howdy, Karen.
I'm always happy to rustle up an answer for a fellow Texan, so thanks for boot-scooting by planDisney today. I’m sorry to hear of your daughter’s recent injuries. I hope she is doing well and wish her the speediest recovery possible. While I know this puts a slight damper on your plans, rest assured your daughter will still be able to have a magical vacation in spite of her injuries.
First and foremost, have your daughter consult her doctor for guidance on any restrictions she has as a result of her injuries. She wouldn’t want to delay her recovery by partaking in an attraction like The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness, for example, if she’s not supposed to. Once she has that information, she should then check out the
Services for Guests With Mobility Disabilities webpage. It has everything she needs to know about navigating Walt Disney World Resort with mobility issues, from attraction access to transportation options and more. She can also find this information in the interactive map feature in the
My Disney Experience mobile app by selecting "Attractions" from the drop-down menu, then filtering the results by "Mobility Disabilities." The good news is she will still be able to experience most attractions on property with her boot on, but, again, she needs to follow her doctor’s guidance to be as safe as possible.
Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are available to rent by the day at the theme parks, water parks, and
Disney Springs. However, I recommend you plan on getting there early to rent an ECV, as quantities are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Karen, I hope this information proves helpful. If you have further questions, please stop by planDisney again and let me lasso up another answer for you.
Happy trails to you,
Alyssa
