Hi, Sonya! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Like you, I am also the parent of a child with autism. One of the reasons why my family returns to the Walt Disney World Resort year after year is that they are so wonderful about accommodating my son's special needs. The Walt Disney World Resort's
Services for Guests with Disabilities truly make the magic accessible to everyone.
We always utilize
Disability Access Service for my son when we visit the Walt Disney World Resort. In my personal experience, the Cast Members I have encountered when using Disability Access Service for my son have all been very knowledgable.
Whenever we have visited
Guest Relations with my son to discuss his needs, the Cast Members there have always been kind, compassionate, and very well-versed in their knowledge of Disability Access Service. Now that Disability Access Service is connected with your
My Disney Experience account and
MagicBands are used for attraction return times, I feel the whole process of utilizing Disability Access Service goes much more smoothly. All the Cast Members who have helped us to obtain and redeem attraction return times have seemed to have a firm grasp of how Disability Access Service works.
I see that you will be arriving in September for your next trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. You have chosen a wonderful time to visit! Be sure to check out some of my favorite events like the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Also, you will be arriving right after the highly anticipated opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge; how exciting! There is so much happening at the Walt Disney World Resort this year. I'm sure you will agree that
now more than ever, it's the perfect time to visit!
See ya real soon!
Samantha
