Hi there, Angela, and welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with this great question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! It sounds like you're gearing up for a spooktacular time at
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
Angela, it's awesome that you and your daughter have been able to make unforgettable memories at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party throughout the years. One of my favorite things about this event is that it continues to evolve with new offerings, while maintaining crowd favorites year after year. If you're hoping to experience something new, a dessert party might be the perfect option! It will give you a dedicated spot to relax after a long day and enjoy spellbinding snacks and beverages at your leisure. It will, however, take time away from the party itself, so you'll have to think about whether you'll have enough time for everything on your must-do list. Let's dig in a little deeper!
There are two experiences to choose from:
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace and
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing. Those are admittedly long names, and the main difference is where you'll be watching the fireworks: either at Tomorrowland Terrace or within the Plaza Garden (directly in front of Cinderella Castle). Tomorrowland Terrace has great seating options, and you'll need to stand if you're in the Plaza Garden. Depending on which option you choose, you'll be able to check in and enter early, and since there is often a line, you might consider arriving even earlier to ensure you have as much time as you like at the dessert party.
Here are a few advantages to attending a dessert party: there will be no stress associated with saving a spot in front of Cinderella Castle, you'll be able to relax and enjoy air conditioning within Tomorrowland Terrace for a break at the end of a hot day, you'll have a great vantage point for fireworks, and it will be a totally new experience for you and your daughter. If you enter the park as early as you're able, which is typically around 4:00 pm, you'll have a lot of time to enjoy attractions and festivities before heading to the dessert party.
There are a few disadvantages when it comes to attending a dessert party. Unlike a typical evening at Magic Kingdom Park, Guests don't always need to save a spot to view fireworks since party crowds are typically lower, so you could be taking advantage of other offerings. Since you will receive plenty of candy when trick-or-treating and have access to unique snacks, you might not need the extras that are offered at the dessert party. Depending on your must-see and do list, the dessert party might take a big chunk of time that you'd otherwise spend on riding attractions, meeting Characters, and experiencing all of the other unique Halloween offerings like Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade and my all-time favorite, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular.
Angela, I hope this is helpful to you as you weigh your options. Either way, I know you'll have a monstrously fun time with your daughter! Please stop by planDisney with any other questions you have!
See ya real soon!
