Welcome back to planDisney, Kingsley! Thanks for sailing our way.
Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab have a strict age policy when it comes to secured programming. Children older than 12 are not allowed in these spaces unless there is an
Open House scheduled. Open Houses are often scheduled on embarkation day, in the mornings throughout the voyage, and at select times during your sailing. During an Open House, guests of any age can come and enjoy the offerings in the youth activity spaces. That means your 13-year-old can be with your 8-year-old during an Open House. The adults in your travel party can even join in the fun! An important thing to note is that during an Open House, children do not check in and check out of the area. The doors are open for anyone of any age to come and go as they please.
Did you know that Open Houses are also held in
Edge (the spot for tweens) and
Vibe (for teens)? That means your daughter can check out Edge, the activity space for your 13-year-old, and he can show her around and engage in the activities there when Open Houses are scheduled. I have children of a similar age and my daughter loves to follow her big brother into Edge during these select times. My husband will even join them to play some video games with the kids.
Open House times will be listed in the Daily Activity Schedule within the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. I hope that your children will make some wonderful memories in the youth clubs on their own and together. There is nothing like a Disney Cruise for creating
magic for the family.
Happy Sailing!
