Hi Veronica,
Welcome to planDisney, and greetings from a fellow mama of a Mouseketeer with autism. I know how much love and care we put into making sure our kiddos are comfortable, and I'm happy to let you know that we've always found Disney destinations to be magical for
everyone in our family. With so many wonderful
resources available to Guests with disabilities, Disneyland Resort is no exception!
At this time, all Cast Members and Guests ages two and up are required to wear
face coverings at all times. I know that can be tough for our kiddos, but there are currently no exceptions made to this rule for disabilities. I know your visit is just a couple of days away, but if you have access to an Occupational Therapist, I'd encourage you to ask for some tips for how to get your Mouseketeer more comfortable with his mask. If not, I've found some helpful tips just by doing an internet search for "mask-wearing tips from an OT." Face coverings may be removed when swimming or when actively eating or drinking while stationary and physically distanced, but he will have to wear a mask for the majority of the day. If you feel like he won't be able to tolerate that, I'd encourage you to postpone your visit until the face-covering requirement is lifted. While we don't yet know when that will be, please feel free to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for updates and announcements. If you'd like to discuss this further with a member of the Disability Services team, please feel free to call (407) 560-2547.
Whenever you decide to visit
Disneyland Resort, Veronica, I hope you and your family have a truly magical visit!
Missy
