Hi April!
I'm so happy to hear you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. What a magical vacation you have on the horizon!
Walt Disney World is home to four amazing theme parks: Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, Epcot, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you're planning to visit only one other park besides Magic Kingdom, considering the ages of your children, I'd have to recommend Animal Kingdom!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park has plenty of amazing rides, attractions, and live shows, and also lots of awesome animal exhibits throughout the park. My "must-do" list for your family would include these attractions/shows:
- The Affection Section - An open-air petting zoo, located at Rafiki's Planet Watch.
- Kilimanjaro Safaris - Hop on a safari vehicle and head out into the Harambe Wildlife Preserve, where you can see elephants, lions, giraffes, and more in their natural habitats.
- Na'vi River Journey - A gentle boat ride through the bioluminescent rainforest in Pandora - The World of Avatar
- Triceratop Spin - Dinoland, U.S.A.'s version of Dumbo, with flying dinosaurs that you control!
- Festival of the Lion King - A celebration of The Lion King, with beloved songs from the movie, acrobats, puppetry and more!
- Finding Nemo - The Musical - My favorite live show in all the theme parks, you can dive into the Big Blue World with Nemo and his friends.
There are also lots of Character Meet-and-Greets throughout the park, and delicious dining venues with foods to please even the pickiest eaters. When night falls, don't miss Rivers of Light - Animal Kingdom Park's newest nighttime show that celebrates the beauty of all living things.
I hope this helps with your planning - have a magical day! - Diane W.
