I have a 5 and a 8 year old boys I was trying to decide if we should go to blizzard beach or would you just stay in animal kingdom?

    Emily:

Many factors would go into a decision on whether to leave Animal Kingdom to head for Blizzard Beach or simply stay at the theme park. For me, I would want to consider the following:

    • Price: If your admission to Blizzard Beach is part of the Water Parks & More option you've purchased with your Magic Your Way ticket, I'm more apt to head there. If you are leaving Animal Kingdom to pay full price for a day at the water park, I'm inclined to encourage you to stay at AK and explore it thoroughly.
    • Time of Year: If you're visiting during a warm time of the year when the theme parks can get hot, especially AK in the afternoon due to all of the foliage, the water parks are a relief from the heat.
    • Closing Time: If you're visiting during the year when both AK and BB close around 5 p.m., I'd encourage you to stay at AK. However, if you're visiting during daylight savings time, especially in the summer months, Animal Kingdom tends to stay open later in the evening. You might even find that your schedule allows for you to leave AK, head to the water park and then return to the Animal Kingdom for one last ride on Expedition Everest. HINT: The best way to ride EE is after dark in the front car.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
