We have a 5 year old and a almost 1 year old (her birthday is while we are at Disney World) I was just wondering what would be good ideas and or fun activities that will get my 1 year olds attention. Also if a ride says no height requirement can she ride?

    Hi Keven!

Walt Disney World is the best place to vacation with a family of all ages. Everyone will find fun things to see and experience including your youngest!

The Magic Kingdom Theme Park will be a place for you to spend a lot of your time although each of the four parks will have attractions everyone will love. Your best plan is to peruse the list of Attractions on the web site to learn a little more about each. This will allow you to make a list of those you prefer to do and get FastPasses for those first. Then prioritize the rest so you have a plan for each park.

If an attraction does not list a height requirement then you can take all ages on with you. Be aware that lap bars are used on many and if you can't hold them in your lap they can sit next to you on a seat.

Also look for attractions that might warn you of scary noises or sounds and then decide if it is something your children can handle. Parents know best what their own children would like or not so Disney can only warn guests of loud noises and actions.  Consider some attractions will be shows and decide if the youngest can sit still and quiet enough during these. The worst scenario is when you stand in line and then have to leave the show because of a crying of fussy baby.

Make sure you include some character experiences but understand that these might appear quite frightening to little ones. Encourage but don't force the meetings and usually the youngest will follow along with their siblings and you have memorable pictures.

Anything with bright lights and colors will always entertain the youngest guests. My favorites include Its A Small World in the Magic Kingdom and Imagination in Epcot. I know you will return home with fabulous pictures and memories of your vacation!
