Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Michelle!
Hearing that your 12-year-old wants to help plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation makes my heart so, so happy. My family loves planning our Disney trips together – we watch
planning videos, read books and articles, and spend lots of time talking about all the fun we’re going to have. We even create a countdown chain where each of us writes one experience we’re looking forward to on the inside of several paper chain links, and then we open one up every day for 30 days before our vacation. It gets us so excited for all the magic that’s in store!
In order to manage a
My Disney Experience account, a Guest must be age 13 or older. Until your Mouseketeer reaches that age, their account will continue to be managed by the adult who created the account. This includes both their own account and others’ accounts.
For more information about minor’s My Disney Experience profile, please take a look at this helpful FAQ on the Walt Disney World website.
Michelle, my tween is an aspiring founding member of the Disney Parks Kids Panel and just loves being part of the planning process. For now, I allow her to use the
My Disney Experience mobile app on my phone; she is not allowed to make or change any plans, but she really likes looking at the map on the home screen to check out attraction wait times and character experiences. She has become our resident expert on wait times, and it really helps when making our park plans! She’s also great at spotting characters in the parks (especially Epcot), because she knows just where to look.
When you’re at the Walt Disney World Resort, another great app is the
Play Disney Parks app. There are fun games to play when in the queue for many attractions (they really help pass the time), trivia games, and even music playlists for various lands. I just used the app in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and there are so many great features. I bet your 12 year old will love it!
Have so much fun on your upcoming visit! Please come back and see us if we can help with any more questions as you
count down and
dream.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
